Emilio Morenatti, il fotoreporter cui dedicai un post lo scorso ottobre, è stato da poco insignito del premio Photojournalist of the Year for Large Markets. Il riconoscimento è stato conferito al fotografo dalla National Press Photographers Association.

In Afghanistan, Morenatti ha perso il piede sinistro a causa di una bomba esplosa a pochi metri di distanza dal veicolo sul quale stava viaggiando alcuni mesi or sono. Dopo un lungo recupero, il fotoreporter ha da poco ripreso a lavorare per la Associated Press, immortalando alcune scene della settimana santa in Spagna.

Nonostante la propria nuova condizione, Morenatti non ha perso l’ottimismo: «È una grande sfida, cerco di fare al meglio tutto ciò che già facevo prima quotidianamente. Sto migliorando ogni giorno. Corro di più ora di quanto non facessi prima di rimanere ferito». Una ottima notizia, anche per gli appassionati dei suoi fotoreportage.
