Dopo quasi quattro ore di profonda agonia, il vostro blog preferito (mi piace pensarla così…) è nuovamente tornato in vita. Un inaspettato calo di corrente a San Francisco ha di colpo staccato la spina a milioni di blog ospitati sulle piattaforme di Six Apart e ha obbligato mostri sacri del Web 2.0, come Technorati, a sospendere gli aggiornamenti in attesa del completo riavvio dei server che ospitano terabyte di dati sulla blogosfera.
Una volta tanto, dunque, il disguido non è dovuto alla scricchiolante struttura di TypePad, ma a un imprevedibile concatenarsi di sfortunati eventi. A 365Main è di colpo mancata la corrente. Per sopperire alla mancanza di elettricità si sono immediatamente avviati i generatori di emergenza. Qualche minuto più tardi anche i generatori di corrente sono andati in tilt, lasciando al buio i server.
Ironia della sorte, poche ore prima sul sito della 365Main era comparso un bell’articolo che, senza mezzi termini, lodava e magnificava i due anni di ininterrotto funzionamento della struttura, ricordando le strumentazioni all’avanguardia per la produzione autonoma di energia elettrica in caso di improvvisi blackout.
Insomma, la Rete è libera, finché nessuno stacca la spina.
