Difficile dimenticare la serie TV Il mio amico Arnold (Diff’rent Strokes nella versione originale). In onda a cavallo tra gli anni Settanta e Ottanta, la situation comedy aveva per protagonista il piccolo Arnold interpretato dall’attore Gary Coleman.
Gli anni per l’attore sono passati, ma il volto del ragazzino un poco indisponente che ne combinava di tutti i colori al ricco Philip Drummond nella serie TV è rimasto sostanzialmente lo stesso. E forse per questo motivo vedere Coleman lanciare improperi durante una show televisivo fa un certo effetto.
Ospite della trasmissione di ciarle e gossip The Insider della CBS, l’attore ha perso le staffe quando gli intervistatori in studio hanno toccato il delicato tasto delle accuse di violenze domestiche a suo carico dello scorso gennaio. Coleman ha prima augurato a una conduttrice di affogare nell’oceano, poi ha mandato tutti a quel paese e ha abbandonato lo studio. La trasmissione TV ha naturalmente colto al balzo l’occasione per confezionare una puntata ricca di pathos con musichette drammatiche ad hoc, inquadrature stile reality e persino la consulenza di uno psicologo. I tempi per Arnold sono proprio cambiati.
